Coming Out

Being LGBTQAI doesn't mean you need to live a secret life or that you are alone.

What is coming out?

Coming out is a gender identity and sexual orientation acceptance process that an LGBTQAI person goes through. During the process, you will become comfortable with openly sharing your identity with others. LGBTQAI is an ever evolving acronym that currently encompasses anyone who identifies as lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer, asexual, or intersex.

What can I do?

Talk to friends and family that you trust. The process can evoke feelings of anxiety and depression. Talking to other LGBT people about their experiences will help you determine if you are ready to come out. It is ultimately a personal choice that you accept when you are ready.
